The concept is that you often buy a car from abroad, which can then leases instead of settling a full charge immediately. The alternative to this is to buy a car from the Danish market, where full registration tax has already been paid. But this will mean a much higher capital binding for the individual.
Flex-leasing means that the capital binding is significantly reduced and that you are protected against tax changes that can impair the value of the car. If you had to finance the purchase of the car via e.g. a bank loan, the interest rates on the higher Danish price would also mean that you achieve an additional saving by flex-leasing your car rather than buying it.
Meaning that you acquire a car without a full registration tax and instead pay a monthly registration tax for the desired period.
You have a significantly smaller capital binding, typically 1/3 of the Danish market price.
As flex-leasing is often a case of special cars, the cars will also be easier to sell after use, as the car is still without registration tax and can be sold abroad, where there is a larger buyer clientele.
The car will at any time be able to be registered on foreign number plates, if desired.
Flexleasing is most suitable for special/expensive cars and/or cars you want to use for a period of time, e.g. a convertible for use in the summer months or an SUV for the winter.
